What is wrong here?

Please help me by pointing out just how many things are wrong with this sentence:
"The Colorado Avalanche quickly replaced [Jose] Theodore, signing Andrew Raycroft to a one-year, $800,000 deal." (From TSN)
Here are some beginners:
1) Can Raycroft truly be considered as a replacement of anyone? I understand that Theodore is no Robert Esche, but give me a break!
2) How can you consider a "goalie" who has 1/3 the minutes played in the past year a replacement?
3) I can give bad excuses to the media after playing poorly- where is my $800K ?
